Doug Cornell has accumulated stories from his work in solar energy and investment management, from raising four children, from studying history as a hobby, and from the natural silliness of life. He inflicts these stories on family, friends, and co-workers until they beg for mercy. Now he seeks new audiences. Odyssey Storytelling is his next victim. Becca Howard has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and has over 10 years experience as a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. Drawing from a background in the creative arts, that includes dancing, acting, and costume design, Becca began studying the creative process and conducted workshops and classes. Over time she connected this work to newer research about the brain and energy transformation and received training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), TFT (Thought Field Therapy), and Brain Gym. Becca currently works at Mirasol, a residential treatment center for eating disorders where she specializes in trauma work Dorothea Nobile is a soprano vocalist & performer. Her performing career in Tucson has ranged from acting & directing in local theatre, to singing operatic duets in concert, and jazz & pop standards in the local clubs on the Congress St. Strip. (Her "pop diva" rep was earned through gigs like the one at the Congress Hotel Tap Room where she serenaded patrons with German Lieder while standing on the bar.) As a Classical Announcer on KUAT-FM, she earned a "Best of Tucson" award. Dorothea landed in Tucson after a cross-country trek from New York City were she lived for 13 years. Enough time to collect many life stories while owning 2 businesses, studying and performing in both the operatic and jazz sphere, working with others on the first LGBT organizations & marches in New York and touring Europe with an NYC Clown Troupe. Along the way she earned an Undergrad degree in Music Ed and a Master's degree in Social Work. Dorothea guarantees that any story that she tells will be Stranger than Fiction; Truer than Fact! Tad Beckwith is the volunteer director of PeaceBike. PeaceBike builds understanding between children around the world via the journeys of cycling teachers. Starting on September 25, 1999, Tad spent 26 months riding his bike through 20 countries visiting schools, and helping students establish global pen pal and email pal friendships. He returned to the US in late 2001 to speak and present to student and community groups, asking the question, "'Who is our neighbor?' and 'How can we get to know them?'". Tad currently enjoys walking in the Tucson sunshine with his girlfriend Alanna, studying video production, and dreaming up new adventures. Thanks to Penelope and each of you for this opportunity to spin a "pretty much true" tale. tad@peacebike.org or www.peacebike.org Born in New Jersey and raised in Los Angeles, Julie Glaser is a writer, artist, chronic doodler, and hopeful idealist. FEBRUARY 1, 2006 - "Size Matters"
Bette Mulley - I am a retired educator. 20 years with the Presbyterian Church and 10 with the Fort Worth ISD. I have been a member of the Tarrant Area Guild of Storytellers (TAGS) for six years, and I represented them as the Denton StoryTelling Festival as a Rising Star. I did an original story about the Texas Mockingbird. Since moving to Green Valley, I joined the Teller of Tales storytelling group and to my surprise have delighted audiences with my personal stories. ODYSSEY STORYTELLING PHOTOS and BIOS |
