Tom Galbraith, a recovering lawyer, grew up in Phoenix. He studied English Lit at Stanford and law at Yale. His article in Litigation, "Storytelling: the Anecdotal Antidote," argues that the ancient art of storytelling is the best antidote for the limitations inherent in the analytical thinking that law schools imbue. It has been republished in GP Solo, as part of a collection bearing the incongruous title, "The Best Articles Published by the ABA," as well as in other lawyer journals. ODYSSEY STORYTELLING PHOTOS and BIOS Shanna Leonard grew up near the end of Oxbow Road in the Tucson Mountains. She sings in her shower, car, dreams, and backyard. Her classic "Three Green Trees with Skiis" was published in the Brichta Elementary School Newsletter, and since then she has authored over 120 poems. Shanna has been employed variously as a bicycle messenger, waitress, children's theatre director, drama therapist, and currently works as a computer/networking geek for the University of Arizona. As a single working parent, she would like to take this opportunity to thank her parents, siblings, friends, and extended family for their omnipresent support & child care which has made the promise of a sane life conceivable, if not quite attainable. Arthur Thomson hails from Glasgow, Scotland where he was born and raised. He has been writing poetry since the age of nineteen and has been living in and around America for the past eighteen years. He is also a singer, songwriter and performance artist. Thomson currently lives, writes and cuts hair in Tucson, Arizona. Renaissance woman, Kathleen Williamson, J.D., Ph.D., CD! is a lawyer, writer, scholar, cultural anthropologist, performing songwriter, photographer, and local provocateur. Born in the Bronx in 1953 to an Irish immigrant mother and Irish native-New York sailor, Kathleen moved to central Arizona in 1974 and to Tucson in 1986, where she has provided years of legal public service as well as many musical performances. In 2003, she won the TAMMIES for Best Songwriter and Best New CD for her album “love is best of all” (Owl's Nest Productions) as well as the statewide Arizona Blues Challenge as a duo with her partner, Lisa Otey. She currently serves on the boards for KXCI-FM and the Tucson Jazz Society. teresa simone was born at reese air force base hospital in lubbock, texas, into one of the most story worthy families ever. truth is stranger than fiction. a high school dropout, teresa parted home at 16, eventually putting herself through college. if she gets her act together, she will graduate in may with an M.A. in women's studies, having finally finished a thesis about drag kings (and she's a performer in Boy R Us.) she hopes to never pursue clerical or direct service work again, and is currently debating going to yoga teacher training school and/or building clientele as a dominatrix as alternatives. eventually, teresa will get her phd, but she is currently treasuring her youth. Dr. Dena Baumgartner has been in private practice as a psychotherapist in Tucson, Arizona for 18 years. She is director of the Tucson Center for Action Methods and Psychodrama (TCAMP), and is a certified marriage and family therapist, professional counselor and certified group psychotherapist. She finds Psychodrama a creative way to help the spirit heal and grow. |
