Beth Lisick is the author of Monkey Girl, This Too Can Be Yours (both on Manic D Press) and the upcoming Everybody IntoThe Pool, a collection of humorous essays due out from Regan Books in Spring 2005. She is the co-founder the Porchlight Storytelling series, writes a column for SF Gate and is the manly half of the comedy duo Carole & Mitzi. She lives in Berkeley, CA with her husband Eli, (who is Penelope's son!) and 2 ½ year old Gus, who, we have every reason to believe, is Penelope's grandson. Sharon Hulin was bitten by the acting bug at age 11. She has gone on to become a producer and a writer. She wrote, produced and acted in the short film "Seven Digits", which premiered at the Arizona International Film Festival in 2000. Sharon coaches actors and continues to write. She hopes to be in production on the first in a series of educational children's videos before the end of the year. Lisa Levine just fell in love with a dog named Bo. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, she calls Tucson home while she works on earning her MFA in creative writing from Spalding University. Fluent in French, Italian and kitchen Spanish, she spends five nights a week grilling, frying and slicing all manner of edibles in the culinary department of the Westin La Paloma Resort and Spa. Stacey Seaman is a first-time storyteller who is eagerly looking forward to speaking about her (currently nonexistent) career. Stacey's first career was as professional college student. Unfortunately, after only nine years, this lucrative career came to an abrupt and tragic end when Stacey inadvertently graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of Arizona. Challenged with reinventing herself, Stacey made a bold move into the previously unexplored realms of gainful employment by landing a teaching job as a band director at a local middle school. Though hanging around with 13 year-olds strangely seemed to suit Stacey, she is taking a brief hiatus from teaching to explore a long time dream of hers: Temp-jobbing. Carl Foster is an electronics engineer with an attitude - a good attitude. He believes that engineers should be able to talk about non-technical subjects to a variety of listeners, and leads by example. Although Carl's technical dissertations would be regarded by normal people as a mild form of punishment, the human side of engineering can be a bit whimsical at times. He has worked for large and small companies, and taught several college-level classes in the field of digital electronics and radio communications. Away from work, Carl enjoys bicycling, scuba diving, woodworking, amateur radio, and other activities that require the use of equipment or tools. Lata Nadig a clinical psychologist who recently completed her training to become a massage therapist. She took a hiatus from psychotherapy in hopes of working with clients who, on occasion, would shut up. She also looks forward to the instant gratification of witnessing the immediately redemptive effects of her efforts, for a change. Throughout her stints as a shrink she was haunted with the legacy of the intimidating title of Condom Lady, a running theme in her occupational life. While it isn't his career, one of the most meaningful ways Kevin Eddy spends his time is assisting his wife in teaching self-defense to women, children, and the disabled. Kevin is a 4th-degree black belt in Bujinkan Taijutsu, a Japanese martial art composed of nine traditions - 3 of which are the only remaining ninja traditions. Kevin has been involved in teaching self-defense for 6 years, and has many bruises to show for it. ODYSSEY STORYTELLING PHOTOS and BIOS |
