A Spike Lee joint, 'Kobe,' hits ESPN on Saturday
"Kobe Doin' Work" is a behind-the-scenes look at an April 13, 2008, game between Kobe Bryant's Los Angeles Lakers and the San Antonio Spurs, with in-game commentary and post-game analysis from Bryant.
The Spike Lee documentary premieres on ESPN at 5 p.m. Saturday. It will be repeated several times on ESPN2, but the first airing will be commercial-free.
Odyssey Storytelling tackles the body in show tonight
The human body is the theme of tonight's performance by Odyssey Storytelling at Club Congress.
"We pick provocative themes that can be interpreted in a variety of ways," said the show's curator, Adam Hostetter, 37, who will also serve as emcee.
Each of the six storytellers will tell one 10-minute story without notes, he explained.
"We have really diverse storytellers," said Hostetter, below, who works in adult education at Pima Community College.
"Telling personal stories is always scary, but one of the things we really believe in is that when you are honest with people, people are honest with you," he said. "It's exhilarating."
The storytellers will hit the stage at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7, and doors open at 6:30 p.m.
